While we can’t make healthcare professionals into mind-readers, we can become better at communicating our needs and concerns to them. The more serious our medical condition is, the more critical this dialogue becomes in planning our care. We at the Center for Communication in Medicine have made it our mission to bridge communication between patients, families and healthcare providers. In this workshop we’ll introduce a video and workbook developed to empower patients to begin the conversations essential to shared healthcare decision-making.
“You’ve got to communicate what you want to do.”
