Grants for Individuals
Funding to assist individuals in their health care needs.
GOOD NEIGHBOR GRANTS
The Foundation makes grants on behalf of individuals who are unable to pay for their costs of healthcare. Two thirds of these grants are for dental care each year, due to the oral health crisis in the Upper Valley and across the country. The remainder of the grants fund medical equipment, mental health, pharmaceutical and other health needs. For more information and an application, click here.
LOAN FORGIVENESS
In 2009, the Foundation began a loan forgiveness program to attempt to retain recently hired health care providers at the Ottauquechee Health Center. Two grants were made to the two new physician assistants at the health center’s practice. In future years, the Foundation may expand the program to include other health care providers in our community. For more information and an application, click here.
EDUCATIONAL GRANTS
The Foundation has shifted the bulk of its educational grant making to its loan forgiveness program and to organizational grants to local community colleges such as the two that have trained most of the health care providers in our area, Vermont Technical College and River Valley Community College (formerly New Hampshire Community Technical College). A limited amount of funding may be available for qualified community residents seeking a small educational grant for training. For more information, click here.
